Do the software I have work (i.e. utilizes the power of) on vista64 -bit?

I have labview 8.6, and vision aquistion 8.6.1  CDs.

Do I need any additional/specific software/drivers to run these products on a windows vista64-bit system?

thank you,

veritas

No, you don't need any additional software/drivers. However, be aware that you will be running a 32-bit version of LabVIEW on your Vista 64-bit system.

ah, yes, this is possibly my issue  (i have "phidgets"  software (and hardware),  64 bit version), and I'm having trouble getting the labview to recognize it (the automation open (i think it uses activeX)) is having trouble loading it (I get a reference number error).  Thought it might be some kinda driver issue.

uhm, how do you know I have a 32 bit version?  what is the name of the 64 bit version? (link?)

thank you for time,

veritas

Hi veritas,

That is most likely your issue. LabVIEW 8.6 only runs as a 32bit application (there isn't a 64 bit version) and unfortunately won't be able to interface 64-bit objects. If you want a little more information look here.

Sorry for the late reply, but NI officially released LabVIEW 2009 today. This latest version of LabVIEW does have a 64-bit version. If you have standard support, you should be able to download this from the Services Resource Center.
