Cannot select a tool in vision assistant

Hi!

I have the following problem and found no clues how to solve this:

When I open an image in vision builder and try to use one of the tools from the tool palette (e.g. IMAQ Threshold) it is not possible to select it. Theat means I can double click on it but it will not appear in the processing pipeline at the bottom of the window. A few of my colleagues have the same problem.

Installed versions:

Labview 7.1.1

Vision 7.0.1

IMAQ 3.1.1

Vision Assistant 7.0.1

Most likely your images is the wrong format for the command you are trying to select.  I usually see this when I load a color image, and I can't use the grayscale commands.  The easiest method to fix it is to use "Extract Color Plane" under the color menu, which will convert your color images to a grayscale image.  This will enable the commands in the grayscale menu.

The image type I used is correct.

If the step you select (e.g. grayvalue threshold) is not compatible with the used image, you get a message that this is not possible.

For example, if I double click "ExtractSingleColorPlane" on a color image - vision assistant grays out some of the controls and enables the same view right away. Usually the setup menu should be shown. But that won't happen.
