Camera Link and the Camera Control line

I have a Camera Link digital camera (Imperx 11 mega-pixel) which I wish to control the exposure time using the Camera Control line (CC1). The camera is fully complient with this method.

I have used the NI Camera File Generator to setup the format of the ccd, the bit depth, the number of taps, etc. I see that there is a Camera Control tab which I think can be used to setup the CC1 line. However, I find this procedure very difficult to understand, I am wondering if there are any examples to follow. Once this is setup, I would like to use LabView to then control the exposure time. Any help would be appreciated...

I am aware that I can set the exposure time via the com port, however that is not an option for my application.

Thanks,
Chris

Hi Chris,

Thanks for using our discussion forum! While there are no real examples for using the camera file generator, follow these steps to use the Camera Control lines:

1. Open Camera File Generator and create a new camera file.
2. Click on the camera control tab and add an attribute- name it "esposure time" or whatever you feel is appropriate
3. After Clicking "OK", select the attribute you just created in your new attribute tree and select the now available "Pulse Generation" tab.
4. Click "Add" and you can select the control line for which you would like to control a pulse.

Hopefully this helps you out!
