CVS1454 doesn't read signals from PLC with Vision Builder for AI

Hi, we use a NI1454 CVS with Vision Builder for AI 2.0. Our PLC of the machine is connected with CVS and I could test that all is rigth in the comunnication.
We inspect different products with vision and so, we use different programs. When we change the product, we must change the program, and of course our PLC send the signal to do it. In configuration mode, this signal is perfectly read. But in Inspection mode the signal is NOT read and it is not possible to change the program. in Inspection mode the signal arrives perfectly (it has been checked)
Any help please? Thanks CR

This may not be an answer but rather an indirect solution. Vision Builder AI 2.5 just releases claims to allow direct communication to and from PLCs.... just thought I'd trow that out there for reference.

Thanks Pasadena. I want to understand that there is another version of this soft that it works better?

I don´t know if I commented that 2.0 soft runs very well, and the communication worked well until 2 weeks. so I cannot understand what happened.

And another question, this version is available in this web or I have to buy it?

Thank you.

Hi Carlos R,

Answering your 2nd question, call NI for an upgrade since it's not a patch but a new release of the software (and so it's not for free).
Good luck with the 1st question.

Best Regards.

Hello ,

maybe the problem that you are having is the following:
You must be sured that have checked "Start Inspection when Launched" option on the Startup Tab on the Remote Target Option. Doing that, you can turn off and on the CVS and the inspection will start working according to the digital port selection (connect a screen to the VGA port of the CVS ). Test to change the digital inputs and the inspection will change.
But the problem is: if you go to Vision Builder - Inspection, stop the Inspection running and start again, the CVS ignores the digital port selection.I mean, if you start an inspection from VB for AI, the CVS ignores the digital port selection. The inspection must be launched by the CVS.

I hope this helps.
