Bayer compression

Hi all,

I want to find the best algorithm for compressing Bayer images in a 'lossless' form

JPEG, JP2 and others work great on the final RGB images, but I wonder if there is an algorithm which can benefit from a 4 channel (undemosaiced) data.

I'm sure there's actual academic papers on this, but perhaps a simple way would be to split the three color planes of the original encoded pixels and compress those as individual monochrome JPEGs?
