is it possible to have a list of all new features of CVI 9.0 (especially the C99 features) without having to view a webcast ?
i am sure i am not the only one who cannot watch a webcast at work, also the webcast is not subtitled and i don't have sound at work. finally, and most important, lots of users of this forum are not native english speakers, and will not understand anything of this speach.
thanks a lot.

Hello,
Have you seen the Release Notes found here? The information you are looking for should be in there. Please let me know if I can clarify or add to anything in that document.
Thanks!

Hello Taco and Guillaume,
NI is usually reluctant to discuss release dates, since circumstances can sometimes cause our plans to change. But Guillaume really has been asking for quite a while here in the forum, and we also understand that it's important for our users to have some idea of what to expect from us, so that they can plan accordingly.
We are planning on re-syncing the CVI Linux module with the latest version of CVI for Windows in 2010.
I realize that you were probably hoping for a release sooner than that. But we have other, more immediate priorities that simply can't wait, and so we are not in a position to have a Linux release before that. We are committing to releasing it then.
I really do wish we could release it earlier, since Guillaume in particular has identified a number of issues that make working with the current version difficult. And I do understand that it's generally cumbersome to be developing with one version in Windows, while having to worry about running it with an older version in Linux. I can tell you that it's not likely that we'll ever be updating the Linux version with each Windows release, but we do hope, in the future, to release the Linux version more frequently than once every 4 years.

by the way, now that CVI 9.0 is out, can we start making suggestions for the next major release of the compiler ?
personnally, i'd like to see CVI 10.0 performing some optimization: constant folding (i hope it is already there), common subexpression elimination, function inlining... there are so much more ways to optimize the compiler output. would it be possible for NI to consider such a major improvement ?
