This is usually caused by not discarding all of the ActiveX handles properly. My version of that example does not do it. Did you modify the example at all? If not, maybe you have an older copy of the example that has an error in it. I am using CVI 7.0. Also, what version of Excel are you using? If it is Excel 2000, XP, 2003 or later, you should be using the excel2000dem.prj example instead.
