TestStand Install Directory Mystery

I installed TestStand on my development PC & a target PC, before I realized that the deployment would take care of the latter for me. I then uninstalled TestStand from both and re-installed TestStand onto my development PC's C-Drive. I also uninstalled LabWindows/CVI 7.1 from my D and re-installed onto my C-drive. I didn't move my source code, however. It is still on my D-drive.

When I deploy onto the target, the TestStand System Setup dialog says the installation wizard will install the TestStand 3.1 Engine in D:\Program Files\National Instruments\TestStand 3.1\. And underneath, it says "You cannot change the destination folder without uninstalling TestStand".

The problem is that my ultimate Target does not have a D-drive (well it does, but it's the CD drive). I'm not sure why it insists on installing on the D-drive, but since it does, how do I get it to stop?

Hello,

This sounds quite odd. Perhaps TestStand was not successfully uninstalled. I would recommend checking in "Start >> Settings >> Control Panel >> Add or Remove Programs >> NI Software" to see if there is an entry for TestStand 3.1 and uninstall it if there is. Also, you can check your registry by going to "Start >> Run" and typing in "regedit". Browse to "My Computer >> HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE >> SOFTWARE >> National Instruments" and delete any folders relating to TestStand. Take care!
