Store string data from usb into an array

Hello to all I'm a newer of LabWindows CVI,
I started a project where I have to take a string that comes from a USB port and then I have to store it in an array to take the individual data to use in graphs, barometers, accelerations.
I've been searching the internet for a long time but I have not found anything.
Can anyone tell me a suggestion from where I have to start?
