Did you mean:

NI-DAQ 7 Speed

It seems that the new LabView7 and NIDAQ7 result in up to 20 times
faster analog input.

Is there a similar impact on CVI ?

I asked because I have some software written with CVI5.0 which is very
timecritical. I think it might work musch better with 20 times faster
datat acquisition.

Thanks for any info

Yes, the speed improvements are tied to the version of NI-DAQ, not the ADE. Therefore, you will receive the same benefits in CVI. Keep in mind however, that in order to be able to use NI-DAQ 7 in CVI, you need to upgrade to CVI 7.

Absolutely, the impact is similar for CVI - as Luis mentioned, the performance improvements are not ADE-specific.
However, before upgrading to NI-DAQ 7.0, make sure the board(s) that you are currently using is supported under NI-DAQ 7.0. Not all boards are yet supported under this driver. For a list of the boards that are supported, please refer to the following readme file:

ftp://ftp.ni.com/support/daq/pc/ni-daq/7.0.1/readme.html

I would highly recommend that you consider upgrading to CVI 7.0 though. You will get so many benefits, including technical support (we only support CVI 6.0 and higher), not to mention the lastest and greatest integrated workspace and many debugging features.

You can request a free LabWindows/CVI 7.0 evaluation CD here:

CVI6.0 will work with NIDaq7..see NIDAQ7 readme

The following table lists the application software versions supported by NI-DAQmx and Traditional NI-DAQ.

NI Application SoftwareVersions Supported by NI-DAQmxVersions Supported by Traditional NI-DAQ
LabVIEW 7.0 6.0—7.0
LabVIEW RT module6.0—7.01

I should have been clearer in previous post. When I wrote NI-DAQ 7, I was really referring to NI-DAQmx, not Traditional DAQ.
