Making a CVI app interface look more modern

I'm looking for tips on how to make a CVI application look - dare I say it - more "Web 2.0" Smiley Sad (Not my words, but it's probably something many of you have heard, so please hold your derision!)

Lab style controls help, of course, but I'm hoping people can add to that with anything from fonts and colors, to design practices to more in-depth tips that are specific to developing within the CVI IDE.  Screenshots or sample UIR files encouraged.

Are there any "designers" in the house?Smiley Tongue

Thanks,

Ian

Nothing to do with being 'modern', but one way to improve (?) it is to us a
picture of an instrument front panel and put your controls over that (LEDs
work well for that purpose). Personally I don't like that solution as it
visually complicates things and makes dealing with panel sizes a nightmare.
