How do I use the installation script file

Problem: I want to use the "Bublid->Create Distribution" to create the installation package. But I don't know how to use the "Advanced->installation script file". Please tell me how to use the installation script file and the grammar of this file. Thanks very much!

What version of CVI are you using? There is not advanced script in CVI 6.0 or later since they are now Microsoft Windows Installer files.

Hello,

I did some digging and this is what I can tell you.

You can look at 2 script files that get installed to see if they can provide you with some information about how these scripts work. The files are:

cvi\bin\template.inf
cvi\bin\vxipnp.inf

The technology used in CVI 5.5 installation is old and the company that we licensed it from has long been closed. We moved the CVI Distribution Kit to MSI technology in the next release, and are still supporting it.

Regards,
Jeff

There are lots of options to explore, for instance, you can create your own installation from scratch. If you can tell me more abouit the objectives you want to achive using custom scrips I can give you some pointers in the right direction.
