How do I restrict "Find >> Multiple Files" to project files, not some folder?

Searching through project files is much more useful than searching through some random folder.

Even if you browse to your project's folder, many header files will not be there.

I like the way LabWindows/CVI version 6 and before worked. Can I do that in version 7?

Bruce,

You can simply erase the contents of the Directory field, then mark whichever files in the list you want to search through, and initiate the search. If you also want CVI to take you to the first match, the way it did in 6.0, instead of listing all the matches, turn off the "Show All Matches" checkbox.

Thanks, Luis, that works.

99% of the time I will want to search only through files in my project, not some directory; so in that "Find" box, I'll want the "File Types" and "Directory" fields to be blank. However, the Find box doesn't remember that I want them blank, so I have to clear both boxes every time I want to do a multiple file find.

Is there some way to make those two boxes default to blank? I know CVI strives to be keyboard-efficient, so I'm guessing there's some way for this.

This was actually a bug in CVI 7.x. It was fixed in version 8.0, but if you have 7.0 or 7.1, you will have to hit and each time.

Sorry...

I don't know what happened to my last message. Some characters I used angered the forum gods. I meant to write:

"you will have to hit Alt-O and Del each time."
