hi support,
there is a known bug in CVI 2010 in the file-select-popup. it's described e.g. here:
in one of our products this is really annoying, because the filename is built automatically and we are working without a physical keyboard. isn't there a bugfix or a workarround available ?
best regards
Simon

This bug should have been solved in CVI 2010 SP1 released some weeks ago.
If you can't upgrade to SP1 you can upgrade only the RTE and this should solve your problem too.

doesnt seem so, I have installed SP 1 (the "ABOUT"-popup shows me CVI "version 10.0.1"). but the bug still appears.

Simon,
Is the behavior you are experiecing match the descript of the bug fixed found in our CVI 2010/2010 SP1 Known Issues List under issue number 279916? Could you give an example of the behavior you are experiencing?

hi,
yes, this was/is the behaviour. but you was right, it's fixed with SP1. the problem was, that the installer of our product comes with an own copy of the RTE. so the project linked everytime against this RTE2010 and not against the global RTE2010SP1. I just replaced the dll's in the products-dir and it seems to run ok.
now I have to upgrade the RTE on machines in the field. is there an installer to replace the RTE. and is it possible to tell this installer where the RTE is to find ( in what a dir ?) ?
thanks and best regards
Simon

You can download the CVI Run-Time Engine from ni.com/drivers. Here is the link to the current version. This will install the cvirte.dll to System32 or SysWOW64. However, it will not place it in a user defined location. You could use the CVI distribution to place a copy of the DLL in the application directory.
