Execution Error: The Attribute value is not passed correctly???

Need Assistance...

Whenever I try to launch the Labwindows/CVI 7.1 icon, I get an error message saying:

"The Attribute value is not passed correctly"

as a result, I can not run the CVI IDE for code development. I tried reinstalling the software, but the problem still persists. Has anyone ran into this problem before? If so, any advice on fixing it. Many thanks.

Hello,

From what I understand, this error happens immediately after you launch LabWindows/CVI and causes the application to exit. This is not a common error and behavior, so I would like to ask you for some more details.

First, has CVI always behaved this way? If not I would like to know how long ago it functioned properly, and any changes you have made to your system since then. Next I would like to have some more general information about your system such as the manufacturer and model of the computer and which OS you are currently running, including the service pack.

Thank you,

Answers to your question:

No, CVI has never acted in this way before.

It happened about two weeks ago. I have been using LabVIEW for the past two weeks for a new project and left CVI in the background. Now I am returning to my old project again that was developed in CVI.

General Information:
My computer is a generic built PC. It runs Windows XP and has service pack 1.

Also, if this is an uncommon problem, would you by chance know what causes it?

Many Thanks,
Anh

Anh,

While I am not sure how it would happen in your case, I am confident that your installation of LabWindows/CVI has become corrupt.

My recommendation is to remove your current installation of CVI using the Add/Remove Programs dialog in Windows, and then reinstall the software from your original installation disks.

Thank you,
