window correction psd

I am new to this forum and Labview, so please let me know if this would better fit in a different discussion board.

Here's the question:

Q1) I would like to know if the Power Spectral Density function ("FFT PSD for 1 Channel.vi") automatically compensates for the input Energy loss caused by the window function. In other words, is a window-specific correction factor applied within the PSD vi or do I need to apply one manually?

Q2) I want to do the Linear averaging but such option is not available in the averaging parameters in the above mentioned vi.

Below Mentioned are the available options..

     a) No averaging

     b) Vector averaging

     c) RMS Averaging

     d) Peak hold

Q3) What is RMS Averaging, Vector Averaging, Peak hold ??? I know about Linear Averaging? where all the individual measurements have same influence on the final averaged value. Could any one Please through some light for my queries..

Thanks and Regards Giridhar
