hello,

 

I am doing my final year Project and my task is to develop Slam (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Simultaneous_localization_and_mapping) algorithm for Jaguar lite robot (http://jaguar.drrobot.com/specification_lite.asp).

I want to do this for indoor location.

Could anyone please guide me how to start and which instruments and devices I need in order to develop this algorithm in Labview.

I have kinect sensor and My university provide me one robot named Dr Robot jaguar lite.

Could you please guide me for implementing the slam algorithm or any obstacles avoidance algorithm is there any other devices do I need.

Now what should be my first step to start obstacle avoidance algorithm in labview.

 

Is there any direct tool or library in labview to Impliment this kind of algorithm.

Please guide me.

This sounds like you are trying t get help doing your project. We are more than happy to help but you we will not do your assignment for you. You should ask specific questions. Let us know the things you have tried and what specifically you are having troulble with. Post any code that you have written so we can see what you have done so far.

I just got robot And Kinect sensor.

And ask me to develop slam algorithm or any kind of obstracal avoidance algorithm, that's why I just post here.

Because I have referred https://decibel.ni.com/content/blogs/MechRobotics/2010/05/25/starter-kit-robot-obstacle-avoidance-vi...

And for kinect https://decibeal.ni.com/content/docs/DOC-16978 but I am not able to run this vi properly as it seems that openni.net.dll file is missing.

And sample.xml file is missing. 

I have download open ni 2.2.33, prime sense for kinect, NITE , kinect drivers sdk .

I also tried by uninstalling open ni 2 And installing old version 1.5.7 in that both above missing file were located but still its not display anything.

 

Is there any way to use Ni vision with kinect, for example i am able to detect simple camera in Ni-Imaqdx but could it possible for kinect also???

 

Please suggest me which is good way to start this work.

I am thinking to make kinect to identify the object And creating map then I will connect kinect with robot, I am not sure is it good way to start.

could any one suggest me that do I need to buy Compact Rio kit or is it possible to develop slam algorithm with out it.

Here In attachment I have attached vi In which I tried for to detect one object and when one object is detect robot should get stop.This vi working fine. Then I tried for if object is detected Then robot should rotate left or right Then again move forward, but I am not getting result which I want.

In second attachment its a similar example like one In that when I press Run but Then value is change, I tried for camera also when object is detected Then run event should be generate but its not working properly.in this case when event is detected Then run button execute but value remain same means case 1 not execute.

 

Hope you could get my point.

I want to change the state when object is detected.

No, you don't need compact RIO for this. I would just use plain old LabVIEW,

Here in attachment I have attached one demo program vi in that I made program to move robot initially forward direction but when object is detect it turn left.

My question is that how to generate more then one event means I want to make robot initially forward and after object detection it move right and then go forward again.

Which logic is useful for me please guide me.
