we have a preloaded database of facial images of different subjects. How can we match the sideview of an image to the front view of the image?

I have done front view image matching using labview.  But plz suggest me how to match sideview with front view?

This sounds like a really difficult research project.

By front and side view, are you talking about mug shot type pictures where one is taken straight on and the other at 90 degrees?

I don't think there will be any canned algorithms to compare a side view to a front view.

I think you'll have to do quite extensive modeling to compare a side view to a front view (e.g. assumption of spherical skull in order to map relative positions of key features.)

Sounds interesting though.

Hi,

While it is true that you may not be able to find algorithms for matching the side view and the front view, the Elastic Bunch Graph Mapping algorithm could be useful here. You will be able to find ample material on it online. You can start with the pdf attached.

Also, you can read up on proportions matching for comparing the side view and front view of an individual. I think the following link will be helpful.-

You can refer some of the face recognition using LabVIEW examples that are available at-
