using Citadel database

We are quoting a job for a customer that has an existing Citadel database.  They use LabVIEW 8.5 with DSE.  I am a LabVIEW 8.5 user, but I am not familiar with DSE or the Citadel database.  Can I treat Citadel as I would any database, using SQL and the LabVIEW database toolkit?  I have read that Citadel is available with the DSC Module.  Do I have to purchase the DSC Module to get a copy of the Citadel database for my in office development use?

Hi JFMoynihan,

There is a way to retrieve data from an existing Citadel database without Lookout or LabVIEW DSC module installed. You would need to have Citadel Open Database Connectivity (ODBC) driver installed. This will enable other applications to use SQL to retireve data from the database. For more information, please refer to this KB.
