Hi,

Recently I decided to use the TDM format for all my test data files. So as a first step, I read the document 'Introduction to the LabVIEW TDM Header Writer VIs'([broken link removed]) ( Yeah, I want to use it in RT).  Everything went fine till I reached the "Creating a TDM Header File for a Multi Channel Binary File" section of the document. This section tells you how to setup a binary file that contains more than one channel. I created a VI as illustarted in this section to create a TDM file. Even the data file for multiple channels was created using the illustration given in this section. But when I tried to read the file back using the storage VI's, it was reading all the properties that were set for each channel but was not able to read the data and the warning message 2552 tells that "This property does not contain data."

The documentation for Setup Block Channels.vi says that " interleaved (Block) channels described in a TDM file will only load correctly in LabVIEW or DIAdem when USI version 1.1.1.2245 or later is installed (DIAdem 9.1 SP2 LabVIEW 8.0, or later versions).".

I used LV 7.1 for creating these VI's. So was this the problem? or I'm missing something...What exactly is this "USI version 1.1.1.2245 "?

Hi Kallis,

I have some good and some "bad" news for you.

First the "bad" news: As you said, you DO need the USI version 1.1.1.2245 and it is not provided by LabVIEW 7.1.

The good news: Whenever you install a new version of the USI, it will be used instead of the old version. That means that you will update to version 1.1.1.2245 simply by installing the evaluation version of either DIAdem 9.1 SP2 or LabVIEW 8.0. And yes - that will make your application work even though it's in LabVIEW 7.1.

Please notice that there's a significant size and installation time difference between DIAdem and LabVIEW - DIAdem is 56MB and LabVIEW is over 450MB.

Hi,

I got an error message when using the TDM file importer for Excel to import a TDM file containing a date data type. Please find attached the error message, the offending TDM file and the simple LabVIEW 8 VI that generates the TDM file.

Hello,

I am not familiar with "the TDM file importer for Excel."  I can successfully run your application and generate the tdm file, however, I cannot reproduce the error, which apparently is generated in Excel, since I am uncertain about "the TDM file importer for Excel."

If you can list specific instructions for launching and using "the TDM file importer for Excel" I'll give it a try here and see if I can reproduce the error!
