Is there an equivalent version of SYSTEM EXEC.VI in version 7.1 of Labview?  At the very least I would like to call a bat file to launch another program with parameters.

The equivalent version of system exec in 7.1 is called system exec.

I don't know how many different ways you can go into the function palette (I know of only one) but you should notice the search button at the top of the palette. If you ever need to find a function in the future, use this button.
