srs ddg535 buffer

HI, Has anyone run an SRS ddg535 over GPIB? The problem I am having is that I seem to need to request information 4 times before i get the right response.
Do I need to flush the buffer once to get over this, or is there something i need to do after every query to make sure the buffer is empty?

If you mean a DG535 Pulse Generator, I have experience with this equipment, but have never seen this problem.

Are you sure you are properly initializing the equipment?

Try interfacing with the equipment manually, this may give you a clue. Also try running the GPIB Spy, and looking at the log. The log is also very helpful.
