signal recovery 7270 lock in

Hi

I am trying to connect a Lock In Amplifier - Manufacturer: AMATEK , Signal Recovery 7270 DSPLock In Amp.I downloaded their drivers and labview codes to check interfacing of the device.

When I run the main vi, it runs and shows no error code but the magnitude and phase data can not be read on the front panel (OUTPUT), which I expect it should read from the Lock In.

I checked the block diagram, there is a sub vi called: initialize.vi which gives an error code: -1223 , LabVIEW:  Instrument identification query failed.

How do I get rid of this error. what does it mean?

Lock is connected to MAX, it shows device is running properly and also the VISA interactive control worked fine.

I am attaching the .llb file for this Lock In.

Main vi (orginal by AMATEK)is saved by file name: SR7270 Front Panel-Single Reference Mode.vi

I want to plot the Oscillator Frequency against the Osc. Amplitude but as OUTPUT is not showing a change in data, graph is also not showing any data.

Can anyone please suggest what is going wrong in the vi.

Dear pd46,

Normally we do not support such issues because the driver was written from AMATEK and so AMATEK have to support him.

But nevertheless I will try to help you.

So my first question is by which interface is the Lock connected to the Computer and what exactly did you do to test it in MAX hat you can say that it is working properly?

Hi.

thank you for the reply.

I connected the Lock in to the PC with a USB Cable. I am very new to LabVIEW. I followed the rules on the NI website as in how to connect and check if the VISA Read and Write are working with VISA interactive control from MAX.

The Lock In device from AMATEK also has a communication monitor display which displays the input command which I give to Basic i/p Write comand option (\idn*?) on the VISA interactive control window and click "execute". This worked fine which made me conclude that the VISA drivers are properly installed and they are interacting. Am I correct or is this not enough to check if the drivers are properly installed?

Dear pd46,

When the VISA communication works in MAX the VISA driver is installed correctly.

I would please you to use the SR7270 Getting Started VI and select the USB Interface there and also look on your device for the Serial Number and add it in the USB Interface control.

Dear Oleg,

I just tried running the SR7270 Getting Started VI, selecting USB interface with the Serial Nomber of the Device. The VI is forever running, so I ran it again with 'highlight execution' (bulb sign) on the Block Diagram. The VI reaches the SR7270 initialize.vi sub VI on the block diagram and stops execution there.

I am back to square one. I opened SR7270 initialize.vi ran it, execution stops on the SR7270 VISA write/read.vi and it gives the error code: -1223 ,

'Error opening interface,
check for VISA driver' .

I am attaching the error snapshot.

Regards,

Poulomi

Dear pd46,

I looked at you Screenshots and the Write and Read in the While Loops before seems to work correctly because there is no error incoming in the loop where the error occurs.

But I also found a old SRQ entry in connection with the driver LLB from AMATEK and the driver seems not to work correctly because he was written long time ago for the LV 8.2 Version.

So I would ask you to conntect AMATEK and try to solve this issue with them because I can't unfortunately help you since NI did not develop the driver and the NI side (NI VISA driver) seems to work fine when you using the VISA interactive control from MAX.

I wish you much success in their projects.

How do I get rid of VISA Error -1073807339?

Hi

This is still in continuation to the problems I am facing with the Lock In Amplifier. The codes and drivers are absolutely perfect even though they were initially designed for LV 8.2 Version.

Right now, I want a direct solution to this :

How do I get rid of VISA Error -1073807339?

When I run the SR7270 VISA Write/Read.vi , it gives this error at the VISA Read.

I am using USB for communication.

It looks like the driver is attached above. Otherwise, go to the driver download main page.
