What does this error mean?
The application says: "Error code 12: Result Str Error"

Are you trying to talk to an instrument when you get this error. This looks like something coming out of an instrument driver error handler.

This error code 12 in LabVIEW means: "Some system capacity necessary for operation is not enabled".
Since you don't have the same message returned for this error, it means the error is returned by an instrument or some other application, but not LabVIEW.
