remote panel connection error

In my university laboratory, when I run the web server on one PC, I can connect and control the vi from other PCs in labs from my faculty. However, when I try using PCs from other faculties (ie, external network) or from home (modem) the page stops at 'downloading panel' and displays 'network error'.

The server runs on a PC with an automatically assigned IP address. I have put in the gateway address in the network properties, but still does not solve the problem.

Please help!

I set the port to that of my proxy : 8080

Hi,
I am also facing same kind of problem. In our office all the PC r connected through lan. But no such server setup is established. Now i connected my PC with modem and try to connect it through other modem. I am able to connect both the PC. Able to transfer files on this PCs also. But while trying for Remote panel set up it gives network error or "remote server not giving specified vi". I set port address to "8080" but it also not worked.
Please let me know what else u did for this.

Hi,
I remember facing this problem before and as i remember i solved it by incresing TIMEOUT from 60 sec. to much more. when the distance grows larger, it naturally takes more time to download the panel !

change timeout in tools>options>web server: configuration
