reading column from excel

I am reading a column of data from excel, and the output is in the form of an array, but even when there are no empty spaces between rows, I keep on finding random zeros in the array.  How would I fix it.

You have not attached your code or the file you are trying to read. Why should people have to guess at what you have done incorrectly?

Do you have any code and an example Excel file you can share?  Otherwise we are just making wild guesses.

My wild guess is that you have a string in one of the cells instead of a number.
