purchased educational version but only get option to download trial version...

I purchased the full version of Labview. Have receipt and under downloads there is a link. But it takes me to a screen with only two options: "download trial development system" which it wouldn't do

and

other option is "have labview development system already"

which obviously I don't have... ??? Did I get ripped off?

Similar to other versions, you should be able to download, install with your serial number (or by logging into your NI.com account) and have the version you paid for.

You probably did not get ripped off if you bought it through NI or another reputable source. The trial version will be the exact same as the real version, except it expires after some time. So once you install LabVIEW, you just put in your license and it will become the "student version".

I agree that that dialog can be a bit confusing, but both links will most likely bring you to the same download. It does not matter what you click here, but the answer is probably used for statistical tracking and determines what kind of detailed instructions you receive in the next screen.

All version are the same download, and if you don't activate you can try it for 7 days (this time can even be extended).

So the question is if you received an activation code. Did you? That's the only thing that matters. Once you activate, the trial version will turn into whatever version your license allows.

Additionally, please explain what you bought. 

In the subject, you talk about "educational" while in the body you talk about "full". So what is it? Did you buy the full version with an academic discount? Are you a student and bought the student edition (which has all the features of "full" and more (Mathscript, etc.)? Where did you buy it from?

Note that you can get a free license for the student version as long as you are a student (details).

If you have a serial number you should use the “Existing user” download link, because now that you have a serial number you are an existing user! Once you download you will have to activate your software using an activation code.
