Going along with my last edit... You can still put characters like . and \ if you want.
If you want to limit it to just alpha numerics to be allowed I think (It's been a while since I worked with regex's) something like [A-Z]+[a-z]+[0-9]+ will cover that. Look up regular expressions if you want more customly allowed characters.
