panel does not display at execution

A simple VI with a while loop and 2 buttons :
the first button calls a second (similar vi),
the second button exits.
Running this vi and clicking the first button
does not make the second vi panel appear !
Labview 6.02 on Win98SE, Dell Optiplex GX240

Hello,

open the caller vi, click right button on icon of called vi and select in popup menu "SubVI node setup".
In opened window select "Show FP when called" and "Close afterwards if originally closed".
