open examples posted on discussion forum

how can i open the VI examples posted in the disscussion forum?, every time I try I get the messegge saying that my labview version is 6. and the vi that I am trying to open is 7, is there anything i can do?

The problem is even more serious, because quite a few LabVIEW 7.1 VIs are getting posted these days. Yes, you need to upgrade your LabVIEW version. If you are still using 6.0, you're missing a lot of very nice new features. ;-).

As an itermediate solution, you could download the 7.0 evaluation version, which will expire after a while. If you qualify, you could also buy the 7.1 Student edition for your own personal use.

You could also request that somebody convert the VI down to 6 and post it for you, but if any features were used in the VI that were not around in version 6, you're still out of luck.
