ogic smtp library example

Hi smercurio,

 first of all and although we're on 9th of January, I hope you have a good New Year.

Just related to ogic_smtp library I've been checking the different vis' and since I'm able to see the only vi you modified is SendData.vi, for sure you have modified other ones but I'm not able to see them.

thanks for your feedback smercurio,

kind regards.

Jose.

There was at least one other VI that I modified, but I don't remember the name of it, and I don't have the code in front of me.

Does it at least work?

Hi,sorry to trouble you that i  receive the text mail such as the following without  attachment.Why?
BTW,what's the limit about the attachment?The attachment in my vi is a txt file named 1.txt,and no more than 10kB.

X-Mailer: LabVIEW OGIC_SMTP Mailer
MIME-Version: 1.0
Content-Type: multipart/mixed;
 boundary="=====================_3268708019==_"
Status: RO
Message in MIME format
--=====================_3268708019==_
Content-Type: text/plain
 charset="us-ascii"
 format=flowed
Content-Transfer-Encoding: 8bit
This just is a Test.
--=====================_3268708019==_
Content-Type: application/octet-stream;
 name="1.txt"
Content-Transfer-Encoding: base64
Content-Disposition: attachment;
 filename="1.txt"

NTg2NTgyNzI0MjQyNTQzMjUyMzUz

--=====================_3268708019==_--

Thanks.

Hi

I have a similar problem. I tried the OGIC smtp library and smercurio's code but it doesn't seem to work. I can send emails to recipients in the same exchanger server, but whenever I try to send an email to someone on a different server (ex. gmail) I get an error:

CLIENT:   RCPT TO:<xxx@gmail.com>
SERVER:  550 5.7.1 Unable to relay for xxx@gmail.com

Any ideas?

thanks

I no longer had this thread on my watched list given its age. You should create a new thread posting the problem. Offhand it looks like the problem isn't with the library, but rather the Exchange Server. The unable to relay is basically telling you that the Exchange Server isn't letting you send mail to another server through it. As I said, this is an email routing issue, not an issue with the library.

Thanks for the answer. I'll see with the IT guy if he can do something.

X-Mailer: LabVIEW OGIC_SMTP Mailer
MIME-Version: 1.0
Content-Type: multipart/mixed;
 boundary="=====================_3268708019==_"
Status: RO
Message in MIME format
--=====================_3268708019==_
Content-Type: text/plain
 charset="us-ascii"
 format=flowed
Content-Transfer-Encoding: 8bit
This just is a Test.
--=====================_3268708019==_
Content-Type: application/octet-stream;
 name="1.txt"
Content-Transfer-Encoding: base64
Content-Disposition: attachment;
 filename="1.txt"

NTg2NTgyNzI0MjQyNTQzMjUyMzUz

--=====================_3268708019==_--

I'm using smtp.gmx.de and it works on Smtp-Test-Server-Vis...

In fact you have the attachment here. It is the last part contained between the lines --=====================_3268708019==_--.

Your problem is that somehow somewhere, there seem to have been -- added to the begin an end of the boundery indicator.
If you look in the header there is a line:
 boundary="=====================_3268708019==_"

This is without the -- at the beginning and end and probably is the reason that the mail client can not recognize that there are\
multiple parts in the mail body.
