Hi. I have a control question. Can someone explain what offline tuning and online tuning is? I know this is not the right place to ask but I know not of any other control forums. Thanks.

Online tuning means you are changing the PID parameters, changing setpoints, and watching the disturbances and responses on an actual operating plant.  Offline would be finding the PID parameters, but not on an actual plant.  Perhaps by simulation of a plant.
