nidaq opc

Hi all,

At present if i go onto a PC with Labview 8.5 professional installed and create an OPC client against the National Instruments Variable Engine, i can see all the Daqmx channels set up in the MAX software.
However if i install the drivers and MAX software onto another PC, along with the run time files for Labview and i create Daqmx channels in the MAX software there and then connect to the Variable Manager, i see nothing?
Is there something i am missing when setting this up on a PC which doesnt have the full version of LabVIEW installed, instead just the run time files?

Just cant get my head round it 😞

Thanks for any help

Mike

Hi Mike,

NI-DAQmx installs the shared variable engine and an OPC server without having to install LabVIEW. Try modifying your NI-DAQmx installation from Add/Remove programs and check if OPC/variable support is checked.
