I am a new CompactRIO user and am trying to test if I am able to generate a signal with my NI 9401 digital I/O card.  I have set up a program in LabVIEW but when I run it and check the voltage to the port when I am sending the signal, I see no change in voltage with my voltmeter.

Hello RAMshiva,

NI 9401 is a bidirectional digital I/O module. It will generate only two kind of signal digital high and digital low. If you want to generate analog signal you will have to use some analog output card.

To test the card, you can loopback your signal from some output port to some other input port of 9401 and see if it is generating signals properly or not.
