need power amp for compactDAQ analog out

I am using the CompactDAQ in a controls application and need a recommendation for an amplifier that will enable me to provide power proportional to the Analog Out signal, which has voltage but no notable current.  I know the recommendation would be application dependent, but I am hoping for something rather generic for powering motors, heaters, pumps, etc.

You need to specify the voltage, current, power, and power factor of your load(s) before anyone can suggest what kinds of devices or systems might be appropriate.

The means of driving a small indicator lamp are very different from those for a 100 kW motor or an aluminum refining furnace.

I'm looking for something that is variable -on the order of a desktop power supply in any standard electronics lab.  That way I could adjust the gain on the amp and be careful not to damage equipment.

There are some programmable power supplies which can be controlled by an analog input voltage.  Look at Kepco, Accopian, and others.

I've used LM675's for a few applications.  They are good up to about 4 amps.  My applications involved driving servo motors.  They do have some stability issues at low gains, but overall not too bad.

You may also find it helpful to search the GlobalSpec in the Affiliated Product Advisor- it's just a good resource when looking for additional equipment to go with your NI hardware.  Happy shopping!
