Hi,
I have LabVIEW 8.5.1 and NI DAQmx 8.3.1 running on Windows XP.
I don't seem to have any vi's in my "Measurement I/O" palette except for Max configuration and VI Logger.
I don't have DAQ assistant, DAQmx write, DAQmx read, or any of the Legacy read or write functions.
Any help would be appreciated...thanks.

Hi UTexEE,
If DAQmx is properly installed, it should have created a .mnu - file which you can link to your palette. On my PC (Win Vista) it is located at "C:\Program Files\National Instruments\LabVIEW 8.5\menus\Categories\Measurement\daqmx.mnu". To link it to your palette you have to click at Tools>>Advanced>>Edit Palette Set.
Hope this helps,
greets, Dave

Thanks for the info...
I was finally able to get the NI DAQmx palette in the Measurement I/O but I still have so many VI's that have a question mark. The one in particular that I'd like to use is the DAQ Assistant and I can't seem to get that. I do a search in the directory and I can't seem to find a file called "DAQmx Assistant Block.vi" which is the path to the palette file according to the Edit Controls and Functions Palette Set.
Any ideas? Thanks again.

On my PC the path is "C:\Program Files\National Instruments\LabVIEW 8.5\vi.lib\express\DAQmx\DAQAssistantBlock.llb\DAQmx Assistant Block.vi". Did you see it's inside an LLB?
But over all, I think, l your DAQmx- installation is corrupt and needs to be fixed in a whole. Perhaps you can do it the easy way by repairing it via the National Instruments - Software panel or you have to completely remove and then reinstall the DAQmx Driver. You can access the NI- Software Panel via System Control>>Remove Software>>National Instruments Software. This opens the Panel shown below.
Hope this helps,
Dave
