Go to where you saved the file (My Computer...), then right-click on it, select Rename, and take away the ".txt" part of the filename. Ignore any warning that Windows gives you.
I have to agree with tbob and AnalogKid from the other thread: it seems like you need a computer mentor and a hardware mentor as much as you need LabVIEW advice, and you really ought to look for a helper that you can interact with face-to-face.
