log plot

I am trying to control the number of points per decade in a log plot. Is there any way to do this?

To clarify; you have data that's evenly distributed across the range of your plot, but it looks too crowded? If not, what are you trying to avoid?

If you'd just like to decimate your data so you have, for example, 2 points per decade, you can use something like the Decimate (single shot) VI to remove the extraneous data.

Hope this helps,

I am trying to have more number of points for better resolution. In a log plot, if there is a point between 11000 and 12000 Hz, it is easier to read/locate the point corresponding to the frequency between 11000-12000 if there were more points in a decade.

A log plot will display the data passed into it, so if you need more points in a certain decade, you'll need to increase the resolution of your signal. Unfortunately, you can't vary the number of points with respect to the X axis in a Waveform Graph.

Waveform Graph Help:

The waveform graph displays one or more plots of evenly sampled measurements. The waveform graph plots only single-valued functions, as in y = f(x), with points evenly distributed along the x-axis, such as acquired time-varying waveforms.
