labview crashes when building 1d digital waveform

OK some new info.

I rebuilt it, as Andrew said, and sure enough it works as long as the array of waveforms  indicator outside the for loop is NOT a 'digital waveform graph'..... with the latter it keeps crashing labview...

Hello,

I made the example in LV 8.6 with the digital waveform graph indicator. Howeve I built it in a new vi. Did you build it in a new vi? It seems like this vi is still broken, so either its just one vi, or if you did rebuild in a brand new vi, then we may have to look at whats the cuplrit thats breaking it in the first place. I would say, if you recreated this whole thing in a brand new vi, you may have to uninstall and reinstall labview.

Hi, I will rebuild it again (accidently deleted it) and send it to you to see if it works. If it doesn't, an uninstall reinstall may be the best option as something in LabVIEW may have become corrupt.

Sorry for the confusion. I confirmed this as a bug with the digital waveform graph. It seems to hang because of the length of time it takes to set the graph when the array is being put in. That is why when you start with a smaller array and increment up it seems to fix the issue. The CAR for this bug is 134978.

Thanks for the clarification.  How do I use a CAR number?

Hello,

The CAR number is just for a confirmation that there is a bug report for the item that you were describing. Its for the utility of the LabVIEW developers to fully understand the problem so they can fix it in a future release. I am not sure if you can use the CAR number. I just wanted to notify everyone on this thread that there is one and what it is.
