labview 7.11 concatenate/format into string bug using constants

Please view the attached labview 7.11 file.

At the top I have 3 strings concatenated together, one input being from the 'format into string' vi. When I wire up constants to the Concatenate VI it doesn't seem to concatenate properly, ignoring the input from the 'format into string'.

Below - When I change the constant inputs to controls it works as expected.

This is copied from old code that has worked for months, but all of a sudden it stopped working.

Better yet, when I re-create this program I cannot reproduce. It only seems to happen with this copied code. I have mass compiled everything. Can anyone explain?

I think your VI is corrupt.  Like you said, the behavior is not reproducible when creating the code from scratch.  On the bright side, it looks like your VI runs correctly in LabVIEW 8.0 and 8.2, despite the corruption.
