installer error

Hi All,

An istaller created with LabVIEW 8.0 works fine on some machines and creates an error on others. The mesage appears at the beggining of instalation of the aplication:
"The instraction at "0x%08lx" referenced memory at "0x%08lx". The memory could not be "%s"".
Could you advise or help with instractions?

Operating system - Windows XP, Windows Server 2003 R2
LabVIEW 8.0

Thanks!

Hello Dimitev,

Any time you receive an error in any National Instruments installer, it is very helpful to have the text of the details button available.  Also a log of the installation error would be very provide information that could be used to find the problem.  You can follow this knowledgebase to create your log file.

Also see if there is any difference in behavior between the Windows Server 2003 systems and Windows XP systems.  LabVIEW is not supported on any Microsoft Server operating systems.  This could be the root of your problem.

I hope this helps.

We have this exact same error after installing CVIRTE 8.0.0.273. Fortunately, one of our engineers found a workaround that works.

We are able to get the other NI installers working again if we delete everything in the following folder:
'\Documents and Settings\xxUSERNAMExx\Local Settings\Temp' except systemfolders like cookies, etc.
