I have a skalextric race track where am going to make a skalextric car go round the track autonomous, there is going to be infra red sensors around the track to slow the car and make it go faster, my first question is,
Is it possible to put a connection straight from the sensor into the DAQ? Its a USB-6009 DAQ
And second one
I have previously done a project involving a RTD measuring temperature,
Would I use the same type of block diagrams for the sensor?
I will attach the document below.
Thanks
Any help would be appreciated( I am only starting using NI so my skills
aren't
great)

Until we know what type of infrared sensor it is impossible to state whether you can connect directly. Can you provide more info about them, are they standalone modules, what output(s) do they provide, etc.
I haven't looked at your vi, I'm not on a computer where I can, so I can't answer the second part. It does depend on what you want to do. The RTD's provided a varying signal that would be translated into a varying temperature, the IR devices may only provide an "On" or "OFF" to indicate the proximity of what they are looking at. So tell us more about the IR detector's, what kind of signal you expect to get from them, and how that will be used to speed up and slow down your car.

The infra red sensor is basic, it is operated by an LED the car passes it and reflects the light. It then produces 5 volts or about that.
attached is a screen shot of my RTD system I did on LabVIEW.
Any help would be appreciated as I am really struggling with it.
Thanks

It seems like you're just starting with LabVIEW, I suggest you google for some LAbVIEW tutorials. It will help you getting started...
