in port and out port vi's stop working

We use the access hardware in port and out port vis to do register writes to control an isa dac card. The card is supplied with instacal. I can control the board if it has never been addressed by instacal(measurement computing) and after it has been addressed by instacal. My problem is that if the board is removed or and replaced I cannot control it until it is addressed again by instacal. This is a problem because we have this board in an extender chassis that makes the address of the board a value that instacal does not support. I have removed instacal and scrubbed the registry but this problem still exists. What is causing this blocking of register writs?

Instacal is probably opening up the io space for you.
What errormessage do you get?

Sorry for late response. There is no error. It runs but does not control the card.
