import Excel Template into LV ActiveX container

What I am looking for is a specific example or several examples together for importing an Excel 97 TEMPLATE into an Active X container on a LabVIEW 6.1 front panel. After the spreadsheet is populated, formulas calculated, etc. I want to do a save as "something.xls
Each call of the VI imports the same template, always saved as a new file.

The following discussion talks about using Excel in a container:

To summarize, there is no activex container for Excel(there is one for automation). The closest thing is an office spreadsheet container that can launch Excel with an icon.

The following link discusses using a template:

Good luck with your project.
