Hi,

Im afraid that's far too less information to understand your problem.

Can you elaborate?

The only thing I can understand, is that you already have a state machine in place, and you need an exit state.

If I am correct, then you could just add another state called exit, and write your exit procedure before you stop the VI. You will need to the figure how you want your program to land up at this exit state. What state must it be in, and what condition must arise, for it to enter the stop state. Have I answered your question?

You may also want to think about how your state machine handles errors. Personally i use a lots of instrumenation and i have a termination case which executes at the end of the statemachine (assuming normal exectution) and i also have a shut down case which can be called by any of the cases in the event of an error.
