how to read Time data from LeCroy scope with Labview?

I have an externally-triggered LeCroy 9310 scope (using GPIB) that is reading in voltages of less than 1 volt amplitude.  How can i use Labview to read the time duration between the trigger time and the initial wave data? i'm expecting something on the order of microseconds. Are there any Labview VIs for doing this?  Any 'GPIB read' interfaces that can record the moment of triggering and the first voltage data values?

thanks in advance!

Hi srgeorge,

Alan from LeCroy Tech support here...

What do you mean by "the initial wave data" ?   Are you looking to to measure the time of an edge?  If so, then you should issue the query:

C1:PAVA? DLY

where C2 is the channel of interest. This returns the time of the first edge on C2 with respect to the trigger time.

To issue this query, use the driver's low-level "Write" function to send the string.  Then use the driver's "Read" function to read back the scope's response.

Best Regards,
Alan

Alan again.

LOL... I'll insert some spaces this time to fool NI's editor so that it won't insert a smiley!!!

Here's the command...

c1 : PAVA? DLY

(But don't include the spaces before and after the : !!)

Cheers,
Alan
