I want to output a digital waveform to a circuit, read the signal back and compare the original to the signal read back. I am using a usb-6211 is this possible and if so how?

Do a loop back, check the examples which are shipped along with LabVIEW for the help. You can generate Waveform using DO and acquire the same in DI.
As a start up just send 1 pulse and read it, if succeded try complex waveform.

Im quite new to LABVIEW and am not sure how to generate a digital wave form using the usb-6211 as the examples don't seem to mention the usb-6211

As a startup try this VI, if this is what you want try modifying different parameters and proceed in the way you want. Do remember to do loopback DO-->DI

Thank you very much thats what i need, do you have any suggestions how i compare the original with the recieved signal?

Use a comparator "equal to sign", Mark the post as solution if you got the stuff what you wanted.
