how can i use LabVIEW to dect the number of audio output channels are on a PC or are supported by an audio card?

I wrote some software, using LabVIEW, to check to see how many speaker/audio channels there are on my PC. I have a SB X-Fi Fatality Titanium Champion sound card on the PC and it is connected to a Denon A/V via four RCA cables. When I run my software the number of speaker/audio channels detected always comeback to equal two when I know 8 speakers are connected to that soundcard. Is there anyone out there that can provide a bit of feedback? I will add the code I developed and hopefully you can get back with me something that can get me on the right track.

It could have to do with how you have defined the DLL inputs in the CLFNs. Can you post information about that particular DLL and function that you are using? Is there a function reference online perhaps?
