help needed interfacing Instron 4301 with computer

Well, you would just need one DAQ card.  You may have to purchase a different connector block in the future, but this would make BNC connections really easy for now.  It doesn't limit the capabilities of the DAQ card, though.

The hardware comes with SignalExpress LE.  This is software that facilitates DAQ and data logging.  For more advanced functionality, you may need to upgrade to LabVIEW.

In addition to what Brian has said, you can use the BNC connector box or purchase some BNC pigtail leads and use the SCB-68.

for the bnc cables, does it matter what the ohm rating is, 50 or 75?

Also,
With SignalExpress LE, is it possible to save the individual data points in a text or excel file without needing upgraded software?  Thanks again for enduring my neverending questions.
