head related transfer function (HRTF) and head related impulse response (HRIR)

Hello!

Does anybody know how to implement an head related transfer function (hrtf) in a virtual instrument?
More specific:

From a recorded audio wave, in mono mode, I need to split the sound through a specific separation of channels, so the sound could be identified as incoming from a specific direction, imposed from digital controls as the followings: azimuth and elevation.

An useful description for calculating monoaural HRTF is here http://vision.ece.uic.edu/papers/1996/audition/hrtfpap.final.pdf bu I need binaural simulation. This instrument I'll use for audition experiments.

Emilian,

Unfortunately I don't have any experience in that area.  I searched around, and I didn't find any other LabVIEW users who have attempted anything similar to what you are describing.  LabVIEW should contain all the tools you need to implement something like this, such as Fourier transforms, convolutions, and other signal processing functions, but it looks like you're going to need to do some research on the specifics of how to implement your algorithm.
